The Metal Decontamination by Oxidation with Cerium (MEDOC) process, a Belgian technology that also uses Ce4+ as a strong oxidizing agent, but employing sulfuric acid as the solvent. MEDOC is much faster in operation than SODP, and gives very high decontamination factors.
