Microwave scabbling (also called Electro-Hydraulic (EH) or Electro-Pulse (EP) Scabbling) technology involves the excitation of water embedded within a concrete matrix.  The excitation process creates steam which in turn causes stresses which crack and peel off a concrete layer of a controlled thickness, taking the contamination with it.
