Joule Heating Ceramic Melting

Overview

Joule Heated Ceramic Melting (JHCM) is a system where the melter is a continuous use container, heated using resistive heating.  The electrodes used to create the resistive heating are permanently incorporated into the container.  The steel container is lined with refractory material and waste is added.  Once sufficient melt has occurred, it is poured into a separate container.  The process is continuous in that as waste is added and melted, containers are filled.
